I truly believe Prime Netero would've won this battle, hands down, or at least come very close to winning it. Also, the earlier Gungi battles against Komugi turned out to be crucial in this battle because, if Meruem didn't learn defeat prior to this and didn't learn about patterns in strategy, I doubt he would've had been able to force Netero into such a position.

This leaves me wondering. If Prime Netero is said to have survived Maha Zoldyck, then, how would Prime Maha Zoldyck do in this fight against Meruem?

I want to say that Prime Maha Zoldyck would've won, but there's too little information about it. However, if Prime Netero SURVIVED against Prime Maha Zoldyck, then, by that theory, Prime Maha SHOULD come close to winning this easily.

Nah lol prime netero is probably only around 2 or maybe 3 times stronger than his old self while Meruem don't even have the intention to kill Netero. Netero can't even put a scratch to him the only way netero can injure meruem is to use the zero hand but that will take his entire life energy to do that, prime Netero can probably make the duration of the zero hand longer since his younger self have more nen capacity than his older self but its probably not stronger. He could've killed netero in his first strike but he chose to cut off his leg instead because he wants to make netero admits defeat.

You underestimate Netero. His prime self has been implied to be able to counterattack Meruem's attacks fairly flawlessly, so I don't think that it's as uneven as you'd think.

Yes. The Zoldyck and Freecss family bloodlines are likely the strongest in the series. But with the Freecss, it seems every generation is born to be a gigachad, whereas the Zoldycks only manage it every few generations, like Maha and Killua.
